“Very nice quality of Gow tartan scarves that I ordered for my family. Young folks into Buffalo check clothing so I thought it was a good opportunity to show them what the family tartan looks like. Everyone loves their scarf! Family name is McGowan.”

“I ordered a specific tartan scarf on 1st December 2019 as a Christmas gift for my son. I got in touch b4 Christmas to enquire as to an estimated delivery date as I had had no contact from the company besides an order confirmation email. I was informed that the tartan was having to be re-weaved. This was on the 19th is Dec. I replied in good faith that I understood the Christmas rush etc but could I have an estimate if possible. I did not receive another reply until 6th Jan 2020 informing me that the mill had reopened after the holiday and she (Amanda) was trying to get a completion date for the tartan but this reply was only after I sent another email on 3rd Jan enquiring about a completion date for my order. Seriously Amanda you had had plenty of time to speak to someone at the mill to find out or maybe you could have informed me the mill was closed for an extended period over the Xmas holidays. I have since heard nothing from you despite emailing again on the 22/01/2020. It has been 8 weeks since I placed my order and still have not received anything not even a reply to my asking for delivery of the item or a full refund if they are not going to fulfil my order. Would not recommend using them at all. Obviously can’t comment on quality as have not actually received anything from them and as they haven’t replied to my request for actual delivery of my order or a refund if they’re not planning on fulfilling it then I can only say very poor service. If it was possible to leave a no star review I would. Very disappointed and upset customer”

“It took a while for the shipment to arrive - which is expected since I live in the US. The quality of the kilt pin is excellent. The dubh is an excellent show piece. The blade itself isn't super high quality, but I'm not looking to use this like I do my pocket knives. I wanted the look of my lineage some 200 years removed, and this has it. Thanks a million!”

“I ordered a t-shirt with a skull on it that had a tartan background. The tartan I ordered and that was shown online was completely different than the one that arrived. The tartan I ordered was red, the one I received was blue and green. I tried sending a few emails about this and nobody responded to me. This was not a great experience for me because of this and would not purchase from here again.”

“product was as advertised. there was some delay in receiving but that was attributable to the holidays. the only issue, not the fault of scotClans, was that the case for the cds was broken on arrival (rough handling by post office/travel) thanks for the service”

“I ordered two items from ScotClans including a Gents Clan Crest T Shirt Coloured and a book on Scotland's Global Diaspora from 1750 to 2010. The shirt is well made and exactly as shown on the website. I will enjoy wearing it at clan functions. I can't comment on the book since I have several others to read before it. However, a quick perusal of the book suggests it is going to be an interesting read.”

This is a common misunderstanding that we see often from customers - the placement of the motto depends on the overall look of the design and quite often we run it to one side. This is exactly how the crest appears on the thumbnail that appears when the clan is selected so its hardly a surprise.
